Dr. Lawrence Klotz, Prostrate Cancer Research Foundation
Sept 18, 2006, The Toronto Star

Research suggests men can lower their risk of getting prostate cancer by exercising daily, limiting high-fat foods from animal sources and eating mostly vegetables, fruits and grains.

Some foods offer specific cancer fighting benefits:

Red fruits and vegetables, such as cranberries, tomatoes, watermelon and red peppers contain lycoprene which protects damages cells

Cruciferous vegetables, such as cabbage and broccoli are rich in sulphoranes, which help flush ingested cancer causing compounds from the body. Leafy green vegetables can contain Omega-3 fatty acids which help maintains a healthy prostrate

Seeds, nuts, olive oil and whole grains contain Vitamin E which can cut cancer risk

Soy protein is high in isoflavones which are believed to help prevent certain cancers
